How can ticket printing fraud be prevented?

Over recent years there’s been much talk about ticket printing fraud, with many innocent fans being scammed out of hundreds of pounds on tickets that either never arrive, or are counterfeit.

How would you feel; you’ve spent your hard earned money on a pair of tickets for your partner’s favourite band, you promise them a romantic evening, get all dressed up, arrive at the arena – to be denied entry because the tickets you’ve purchased are counterfeit? Definite egg on face!

When it comes to the fraudsters that falsely advertise tickets and take your money with no intention of sending you a ticket, there’s little that can be done to protect yourself, other than to use reputable ticket sales companies, such as Ticketmaster. If you’re purchasing tickets once the event has sold out, perhaps via Ebay, be very wary, make sure that the seller is using PayPal so that if it turns out to be a scam, you can get your money back.
